There is a female and a male mask. The female mask with wide open mouth, extended tongue, and many wrinkles. The male with the mouth closed and large horns. The masks would be worn in two traditional dances, "Otonari" and "Hahagaura ura", to the rhythm of flutes and drums. The dance is performed to protect against natural
